Job Description

Company Overview Equibase is the official database and leading provider of Thoroughbred racing information and statistics in North America. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, Equibase delivers trusted data, technology solutions, and industry-leading products that support the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry Web Developer Overview Responsible for supporting development and operations of the Equibase digital platform, including all websites and applications owned and operated by Equibase and its subsidiaries with a view towards customer experience and opportunities for monetization. The ideal candidate will possess a team-oriented approach but also capable of working independently. In addition, the candidate must be deadline driven, adept at analyzing situations to solve problems, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. At the direction of management, individual will be responsible for executing software development initiatives. Executes the development, implementation and promotion of new products and services for Equibase via the company website at equibase.com and mobile applications, including timelines and strategies that will maximize sales and branding opportunities. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of Equibase electronic platforms. This may include coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle. Communicate directly with management and internal software development staff to maintain equibase.com and other company-operated digital platforms. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Data Operations and Digitals Services.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree is required. 2+ years of professional experience in front-end web development working with web development programming technologies such as a Headless CMS architecture, Java Spring Bootstrap backend for dynamic data, and AWS hosting architecture. Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Hands-on experience with a modern JS framework (React or Next.js). Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. Experience working with version control technologies (Git, SVN) is preferred. Understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility best practices. Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic API data (JSON, XML) through various interface types (REST,SOAP). Experience with data analysis programs such as R and Python are preferred but not required. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several concurrent projects. Detailed oriented with the ability to work well under pressure. Basic knowledge of the Thoroughbred industry is preferred but not required.
