Job Description Minimum Qualifications:
The Senior Backend Developer provides technical leadership for the architecture and development of complex enterprise software systems and backend services. The developer establishes scalable and secure service architectures, leads resolution of complex technical problems, and provides technical direction to development teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect and lead development of complex backend applications, APIs, services, and microservice architectures.
  • Establish backend architecture, design patterns, coding standards, integration approaches, and development practices.
  • Design scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available application services.
  • Design service interfaces and APIs supporting integration across enterprise applications and systems.
  • Architect data-access, database, caching, messaging, and event-driven solutions appropriate to system requirements.
  • Develop and optimize complex application and database components.
  • Design solutions incorporating relational and NoSQL databases, message queues, event streaming, and distributed processing where appropriate.
  • Integrate backend applications with cloud services, identity platforms, enterprise systems, and external APIs.
  • Establish application security architectures addressing authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, input validation, auditing, and secure communications.
  • Lead performance engineering, scalability analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of backend services.
  • Establish automated testing and quality-assurance practices and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Lead resolution of complex production incidents and technical integration problems.
  • Conduct architecture and code reviews and ensure implementation conforms to established technical and security standards.
  • Mentor Mid-Level and junior developers and provide technical leadership across development teams.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, DevOps engineers, cybersecurity personnel, database engineers, testers, and government stakeholders.
  • Evaluate emerging development technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches and recommend solutions based on mission requirements.
  • Lead technical design sessions, architecture reviews, demonstrations, and implementation planning.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation describing system architecture, APIs, interfaces, data flows, and operational considerations.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8-12 years of experience in backend or full-stack software development.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering complex enterprise software systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Advanced experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, service-oriented architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Strong experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies and data-access architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available backend systems.
  • Strong knowledge of application security, secure coding, automated testing, performance engineering, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, conduct architecture/code reviews, and mentor software developers.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required.
  • Must hold Top Secret security clearance.
