A PHP developer is responsible for writing server-side web application logic. PHP developers usually develop back-end components, connect the application with the other (often third-party) web services, and support the front-end developers by integrating their work with the application. They are also often required to develop and integrate plugins for certain popular frameworks.
Axiom Consultants, Inc, is seeking a skilled PHP Developer to provide support to the NOAA Fisheries Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office (GARFO).
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance web-based applications using PHP 7 and modern frameworks such as CodeIgniter 4. Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL scripts and queries for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and implement user-friendly, secure, and scalable solutions. Integrate applications with APIs and services using JSON, OpenID, and OIDC protocols. Manage code versions and collaborate in a shared development environment using Git and GitHub. Deploy and support applications in a Linux-based environment, utilizing command-line tools for setup and maintenance. Contribute to cloud-based development initiatives within AWS, ensuring performance, security, and reliability standards are met. Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups.
