Job Description

As a Software Engineer for the End of Line (EOL) Test Team, you will be at the forefront of Ford's manufacturing transformation. You will design and develop innovative Manufacturing IIoT web applications, leveraging a modern development stack to provide faster, more reliable, and highly available capabilities to our plant floor users. These products are critical enablers for the production of our next-generation Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicles (EV).
Requirements:
Experience:
1+ years of experience in a Technical/Software Engineering or software craftsmanship role.
Backend/Infrastructure:
1+ years of experience designing and implementing APIs and Microservices using the Spring Boot framework (deployed via PCF or Kubernetes).
Frontend/Visualization:
1+ years of experience designing and implementing application visualizations using Angular, React, ThingWorx, or Python web frameworks.
Preferred requirements:
Technical Proficiency:
Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript.
Data & Cloud:
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), MSSQL, and SQL.
Security & Stability:
Proven ability to integrate robust security measures (OAuth2.0, JWT, Spring Security) and troubleshoot complex issues using logs (e.g., Splunk, Apigee).
Manufacturing Insight:
Understanding of Plant Floor Data Management and Processing.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused, results-oriented attitude.
Process Mindset:
Knowledgeable of Ford Technical Standards and industry-wide best practices in Agile development.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $85,400-$143,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value. Innovate & Develop:
Work within a full-stack environment to design, code, and deploy IIoT applications that process and manage plant-floor data.
Technical Leadership:
Develop and promote sound technical practices and "software craftsmanship" within the team. Communicate technical points of view to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate:
Partner with Product Managers and Designers to define technical features and user stories using Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles.
Integrate:
Work with internal and external teams to build seamless integrations between manufacturing systems, ensuring data flows efficiently across the enterprise.
Agile Delivery:
Actively participate in all agile ceremonies, contributing to a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
Strategic Alignment:
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure technical solutions align with long-term strategic goals.
