About American Rooter:

American Rooter LLC is a 24-hour, 365 day per year Plumbing and Drain Service company. Day-to-day operations are carried out by the Service Technicians, Plumbers, and Equipment Operators. We provide Drain Cleaning, Plumbing, Pump Truck and Vac Truck Services (for Sewer, Storm, Septic, and Grease Trap Systems), Pipe Repair and Excavation, with many other industry-related supplemental services. This role is a key player in telling our story and sharing it digitally online and through social media. Normal business hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with limited exceptions on an ongoing basis.

POSITION OVERVIEW

• We are seeking a rare hybrid talent: a technically sharp WordPress Developer who also has a creative flair for managing Social Media.

Our website is built on WordPress using Elementor and Yoast SEO. We are recovering from an asset-bloated, poorly optimized layout. Our immediate priority is a candidate who understands the mechanics of front-end performance—someone who can clean up render-blocking CSS, migrate heavy icon fonts over to clean inline SVGs, drastically improve our Core Web Vitals, and dramatically boost our organic search rankings. Simultaneously, you will drive engagement, visibility, and localized brand awareness across Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Google to capture high-intent leads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Website Optimization & Development (WordPress / Elementor) Audit and overhaul our existing Elementor layout to improve mobile/desktop page speed and eliminate layout shifts. Identify, isolate, and remediate render-blocking CSS and JavaScript files. Remove bloated, non-SVG icon libraries and replace them with efficient, inline SVGs to optimize the asset delivery pipeline. Maintain absolute plugin, theme, and WordPress core security and database cleanliness. 2. Technical & Local SEO Management Take full ownership of Yoast SEO optimization, ensuring flawless configuration, structured schema data, and semantic keyword layout across all service pages. Execute an assertive organic search ranking strategy to dominate competitive plumbing and rooter keywords in our service radius. Monitor, diagnose, and maintain flawless site indexation using Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Optimize our local Map Pack signals and sync local business listing signals with our on-site content. 3. Social Media & Digital Content Creation Manage, curate, and grow our official communities on Facebook and Instagram. Produce authentic multimedia content (before/after photos, short-form video reels, tips, community spotlights) that resonates with local homeowners. Track engagement metrics to continuously refine content velocity, caption copy, and performance.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

WordPress Expertise:

Minimum 3-5 years of verifiable experience managing, developing, and optimizing production WordPress websites.

Page Speed Mastery:

Deep understanding of Core Web Vitals, critical rendering paths, CSS/JS minification, caching mechanisms, and SVG asset utilization.

Builder Experience:

Professional proficiency with Elementor Pro (including custom skinning, template configuration, and asset control options).

SEO Competency:

Demonstrable success climbing organic search rankings, utilizing Yoast SEO, diagnosing crawl errors, and tracking keywords.

Creative Eye:

Experience managing corporate or small-business Facebook/Instagram channels with high-quality media asset editing.

Proximity:

Ability to work in our Watertown, CT office on a hybrid schedule (specific on-site days to be determined).

Education:
