Web Developer, Headless CMS Migration Lead#26-15934 US - Texas, TX Onsite Job Description
Job Brief:
Contract engagement to migrate the Client Library content site from WordPress to Contentful Includes content modeling, migration tooling, application refactor, and a phased production cutover Standalone .js application on Vercel; rest of marketing site already runs on Contentful Approximately 3 to 4 months of active build, plus a multi-week rollback retention window Remote, embedded with the in-house Web Development team in Marketing Reports to the Manager of Web Development Must Haves 5+ years of related experience supporting production quality using TypeScript and Node.js Familiarity with Contentful's Content Management API, Delivery API, Preview API, and webhooks Comfort with feature flags, Vercel Edge Config, and reasoning about production blast radius
Responsibilities:
Design and implement a new Contentful content model covering articles, landing pages, taxonomies, authors, reusable CTAs, and a polymorphic block model Build a migration toolchain that moves content, media, taxonomies, and redirects from WordPress into Contentful, with idempotent and re-runnable scripts Build and maintain runtime modules for SEO, structured data, sitemaps, hreflang, redirect middleware, and Contentful Preview Preserve URLs, structured data, sitemap structure, and SEO equity through the migration Plan and execute a phased cutover with a dress rehearsal, an authoring freeze, and a locale-by-locale flip Own the go or no-go signal at each cutover phase gate with sign-off from in-house engineering, SEO, and content stakeholders Train in-house authors on the new Contentful editing experience during pre-cutover phases Decommission the WordPress instance and remove WordPress code paths after the rollback retention window closes
Requirements:
