No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental searchmittee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis. Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted. Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning oues identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned. Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Hours vary, depending on the need and course scle, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and ad to College policies and prores. Online teaching position Required Education All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation. Provide timely feedback to students and respond to studentmunications in a timely manner. Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion. Maintain ethical and professional behavior. Be available to students by appointment. Attend adjunct faculty meetings. Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels. Complete any required training. Other related duties, as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability tomunicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, gic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and prores of the College.
