SUMMARY:
To prepare leaders in the A/V, Arts, Communication and broadcasting related industries by translating the
VDOE CTE
competencies, course goals and objectives into learning experience for students at Louisa County High School. The staff member would collaborate with division leadership to develop the program from the ground up, design the learning space, select equipment and build the curriculum. The teacher will also work closely with the athletics department to broadcast selected sporting events with a team of students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Works with different departments within the district to provide unique learning opportunities for students enrolled in the CTE Programs. Demonstrates the ability to perform duties under stress while interacting with students, parents, peers, and the public. Facilitate expertise in the use of industry-related software including but not limited to Final Cut Pro, Adobe Suite and TriCaster. Facilitates and/or administers industry credential exams as outlined by the Director of CTE and the Virginia Department of Education. Works with the Director of CTE to meet local, state and federal guidelines for Career and Technical Education. Facilitate and demonstrate expertise with production studio equipment, hardware, and software Serve as a point of contact and facilitate the school's video production and live broadcasting services Manage and lead a team of students in the production of scheduled live broadcasts of specified events. Maintain a flexible schedule that will allow for working hours outside of the typical school day of 8:00 a m to 3:30 p m
QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold or be eligible to obtain one of the two following Virginia teaching endorsements: Trades & Industry (T & I) with a focus on Television & Media Production (Preferred) Technology Education Teaching Endorsement
