An Introduction GVEA is an electric cooperative which owns and maintains 3,491 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, Clear Space Force Station, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Powering the Interior of Alaska, GVEA contributes to the economic, environmental, and social viability of our communities. What would you do as a Temporary Laborer (8 Weeks) As a Temporary Laborer at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will support warehouse operations through an 8-week assignment focused on organizing inventory, relocating outdoor parts into cold storage, and assisting with general material handling activities. Working directly under warehouse supervision, you will help maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work environment while supporting daily operational needs. This position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a team-oriented environment while gaining hands-on experience in utility warehouse operations. Join us this summer and be part of a team committed to excellence! Are you the Temporary Laborer (8 Weeks) we're looking for? To thrive as a Temporary Laborer at Golden Valley Electric Association, you should possess a solid foundation as a high school graduate or the equivalent. A key skill for this role is experience in the basic operation of janitorial equipment, as you will be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of our coal power station and shop. Attention to detail is essential, ensuring that all areas, including contractor trailers and the yard, are kept clean and orderly. Additionally, effective time management skills will enable you to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards. A proactive attitude and willingness to collaborate within a team will further enhance your success, contributing positively to our energetic and mission-focused workplace culture. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: High school graduate or the equivalent. Experience in basic operation of janitorial equipment.
