Job Description

Nature of position : Temporary, part-time
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Join Our Team at Millersville University! The Tell School of Music at Millersville University seeks a part-time, temporary instructor to teach general education music courses (e.g., Music and Culture) to undergraduate students across the university. The position involves teaching assigned courses (in-person and possibly online), typically meeting several times per week, with a focus on introducing non-majors to fundamental musical concepts, listening skills, and the role of music in cultural, social, and historical contexts. The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. In the event that you are interviewed but not immediately hired, your application will remain in the departments pool of qualified faculty. Copies of registrar-issued transcripts for all degrees conferred and in progress. Two letters of professional reference dated within the last 12 months. Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Music or BA degree in music with 15 additional graduate credits in music. Ability to teach diverse student populations successfully. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations. Successful interview and teaching demonstration. Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior college-level teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
