Responsibilities:
  • Oversee personnel at the terminal including operation team, drivers and dock personnel
  • Manage the dispatch operation of a high-volume account in respect to the spotted trailers.
  • Knowledge of entire scope of operational duties including Inbound, Outbound, Routing & Dispatch.
  • Supervise the unloading and loading of product
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of all trailers/trucks
  • Collaborate, coach, train and evaluate the workforce
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and compliance of all policies and compliance procedures
  • Communicating with the customers to assure optimum service levels are maintained.
  • Assist in the improvement of all costs associated with the terminal
  • Improve processes to all procedures
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of LTL Freight Management
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Familiar with DOT driver and equipment policies
  • Knowledge of AS400 a plus
  • Computer Skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Able to multi task
  • Self Starter and capable of prioritizing workload
  • Knowledge of time/distance geography of Connecticut
  • Prior experience in delivering freight a plus
  • Ability and willingness to learn and utilize Routing System- CLI experience a plus
About JP:
JP Express Service Inc. is a non-union LTL motor freight carrier with 5 locations which serve the Northeast Region. We have a large presence in the Tri-state Region.
Out terminals are located in:
Islandia NY, South Plainfield NJ, Northford Ct, New Windsor NY and Alburtis Pa. JP Express Service is privately owned with approximately 280 employees and has been doing business since 1993. ESOP Schedule:
10-hour shift with an approximate start time of 2:00 pm. Candidate must be flexible to modifying work hours due to company needs. Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: Northford, CT 06472: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
