Job Description:

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

The Testing Assistant is responsible for coordinating the testing operations. This person is responsible for test security and proper testing procedures.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and administers tests for distance learning courses. Manages and administers tests for students with testing accommodations, distance learners and make up exams for students in traditional courses. This responsibility scribing tests or video proctoring for distance learning. This includes video proctoring in the testing center overflow test space. Maintains records of testing participants. Assists in related duties and operational management of the Testing Center. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION

Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum one-year related experience required. Requires moderate knowledge of computer hardware and software, including software related to higher education. Knowledge and/or experience with students with special needs, individual learning styles and appropriate instructional accommodations helpful.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work effectively with diverse student population, and cooperatively with faculty and staff. Ability to work well independently. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity.

RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Student Services. This person works closely with other college departments to provide students with learning support needs. The testing assistant works closely with faculty and staff to coordinate student testing for traditional and distance learning courses

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a 12 month, part-time position at 19.5 hours per week and is compensated at a rate of $18.29 per hour. Hours vary and requires some early evening and possible weekend hours.
