Primarily remote; Travel may be required within the Middle Peninsula and surrounding areas. Job Summary As a Therapeutic Mentoring Specialist, you will provide direct mentorship and support to youth, focusing on developing essential life skills and fostering positive relationships in a supportive environment. Reporting to the Program Supervisor, you will utilize your expertise in childcare, social work, and behavioral health to guide children through challenges and help them build meaningful connections. Your ability to manage conflicts and teach social skills will empower youths to thrive personally and within their communities.

Duties and Responsibilities One-to-One Mentoring :

Provide structured, individualized support to help youths address social, communication, and daily living needs.

Behavioral Coaching :

Educate and mentor youths on socialization, problem-solving, appropriate behavior, and conflict resolution in various social settings.

Interaction Observation :

Observe youth interactions in diverse settings, offering strategies to handle specific social scenarios.

Support Plan Development :

Collaborate with the youth, service providers, and team members to create a targeted support plan, clearly identifying goals and strategies.

Progress Reporting :

Document and report progress regularly, adhering to timelines set by supervisors.

Collaboration and Advocacy :

Partner with case-involved professionals (such as attorneys, school staff, social workers, and probation officers) to provide holistic support.

Resource Connection :

Assist clients in accessing additional services, including healthcare, employment resources, recreational activities, and financial aid.

Court Involvement :

Attend court hearings as needed, providing testimony and treatment recommendations when required.

Plan Evaluation and Discharge :

Work with the Supervisor to evaluate support plans and prepare discharge summaries.

Training Participation :

Attend monthly training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Goal Documentation :

Consistently document progress toward identified goals, sharing updates with relevant service providers.

Deadline Management :

Meet all deadlines set by Supervisors and HR.

Qualifications Experience :

Prior experience working with children in mentoring, social work, or childcare settings is required.

Educational Background :

Strong knowledge of social work and child welfare principles, with a background in behavioral health and special education practices preferred.

Skills :

• Conflict management and teaching techniques
• Ability to establish positive relationships with children and families
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Certifications :

Relevant certifications in CPR, TOVA, mentoring, social work, or behavioral health are preferred. QMHP-C certification is preferred.

Requirements :
