Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist to join our growing team at a substance abuse detox and residential treatment facility serving adults. In this role, you will provide direct clinical services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in a structured treatment environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping clients build a foundation for long-term recovery through evidence-based therapeutic interventions, individualized treatment planning, and collaborative care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to high-quality, client-centered care. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and ongoing clinical assessments for adult clients entering detox and residential treatment programs. Develop individualized treatment plans, clinical goals, and discharge plans based on client needs, substance use history, mental health presentation, and recovery goals. Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care approaches. Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and de-escalation services for clients experiencing acute behavioral health or substance-related concerns. Maintain timely, accurate, and HIPAA-compliant clinical documentation including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, case management notes, and discharge summaries. Collaborate closely with medical providers, nursing staff, case managers, behavioral health technicians, and leadership to ensure continuity of care and comprehensive treatment services. Monitor client progress throughout treatment and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate. Assist clients with developing healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, relapse prevention strategies, and recovery-focused life skills. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, clinical staffing, and utilization review processes. Ensure compliance with Florida regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies related to behavioral healthcare services. Qualifications & Skills Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field required. Active Florida license or registered intern status preferred (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, RMHCI, RCSWI, or RMFTI). Previous experience working in substance abuse detox, residential treatment, behavioral health, or co-occurring disorder settings strongly preferred. Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery principles, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care. Experience facilitating group therapy and psychoeducational groups in a clinical setting. Strong understanding of crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and behavioral health stabilization techniques. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), clinical documentation standards, and HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team in a fast-paced clinical environment. CPR certification and familiarity with Joint Commission standards preferred.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
