Clinical Director Position Summary The Therapist provides direct clinical services to residents in a private residential mental health treatment setting. This role is responsible for conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring documentation compliance with treatment regulations. The Therapist must demonstrate compassionate, ethical, and trauma-informed care, treating each resident with dignity and respect—providing the level of care one would expect for their own family member. Must have past experience working with mental illness and/or substance use disorder.Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related fieldRequired:
Licensed in Florida (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) orRegistered Intern Required:
year experience in mental health treatment setting Experience in residential, private-pay, or co-occurring treatment strongly preferred Knowledge of Kipu preferred Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills CPR and First Aid certification (in-person training) Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments upon admission Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives Provide individual therapy sessions (minimum frequency per program standards) Facilitate process groups, psychoeducational groups, and specialty groups Conduct family sessions and provide family psychoeducation as clinically indicated Complete progress notes, treatment plan updates, and discharge summaries in a timely manner Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings Assess for risk (suicidality, homicidality, decompensation) and follow safety protocols Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation Ensure treatment plans meet medical necessity criteria Complete assessments and documentation within required timeframes Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards Collaboration & Care Coordination Collaborate with Medical Provider, Nursing, Case Management, and Support Staff Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare recommendations Communicate effectively with families (with appropriate releases) Participate in utilization review and insurance communication as needed Core Competencies Trauma-informed care approach Compassionate and patient-centered care Strong communication and boundary-setting skills Ability to work in a structured residential environment Crisis intervention skills Professionalism and ethical decision-making Cultural sensitivity and inclusivity Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods during documentation and sessions Ability to move throughout facility and respond to crises if needed Work EnvironmentResidential mental health setting serving adults with primary mental health diagnoses.
