Tier 1: Budtender/Cannabis Consultant

Tier 1 Budtenders are the frontline of our guest experience. This role focuses on greeting customers, learning our product offerings, assisting with basic recommendations, processing transactions, and maintaining the dispensary floor. Tier 1 is an entry-level position with clear pathways to Tier 2, Tier 3, Shift Lead, and Management roles for high performers. This position requires professionalism, strong communication skills, strict adherence to Maryland COMAR regulations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales Greet guests with a friendly, welcoming attitude Assist customers with product selections based on their needs and preferences Provide accurate, compliant information about strains, products, and usage Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor Transaction Processing Accurately process sales using the POS system Verify valid government-issued ID for every transaction Follow all cash-handling procedures Ensure all bags, labels, and handoffs comply with Maryland COMAR regulations Compliance & Safety Strictly follow all Maryland cannabis laws, COMAR requirements, and company SOPs Maintain secure handling of cannabis products Uphold store safety protocols, including ID checks, product counts, and controlled-access areas Store Operations Restock shelves and assist with inventory counts Keep workstations clean and organized Participate in opening/closing duties Support managers and Tier 2/Tier 3 staff as needed Required Qualifications 21+ years old (Maryland State Requirement) High school diploma or equivalent Ability to pass background screening required by Maryland cannabis regulations Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred Qualifications Prior retail, hospitality, or customer-service experience Basic cannabis knowledge (strains, terpenes, product types) Experience with POS systems Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
