Tire/Lube Technician Job Description:

As a Tire/Lube Technician, you will be part of our shop team providing high-quality basic services to our fleet of dump trucks and trailers. You will be able to confidently switch between tire and lube services as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to confidently switch between tire and lube services as needed. To be successful in this role you should have a strong knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures, and with minimal supervision, be able to complete and document each service.

Basic functions include:

Perform lube, oil and filter changes on vehicles, Inspect engines for leaks, Check and replace batteries, Check and top off other fluids, Clean engine, Raise and lower vehicles using hydraulic jacks or air assist, Reassemble tires on wheels, Mount and dismount wheels onto vehicles and rotate tires Inspect tires, repair ruptures in casings, replace valve stems and seal punctures, Buff defective areas of inner tubes using scrapers, Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting, Apply rubber cement to buffed tire casing prior to vulcanization process, Drive service trucks to industrial sites to provide services or respond to emergency calls, Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately, Assist mechanics, Clean and tidy up the shop.

Requirements:

MINIMUM ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE

of mounting and dismounting 385, 425, 11.24.5, 255, tires on wheels — big truck tires on heavy duty trucks only, no autos. Able to work 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and overtime when needed. Drug free and able to pass drug testing. Able to work inside and outside. Ability to adapt to a very active and changing environment. Ability to select and use the correct tool for services. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Experience:

To succeed in this role, you should have previous experience in a similar position. You should also have a strong knowledge of automotive maintenance procedures and be able to work with minimal supervision. Additionally, excellent customer service skills are essential as you will be interacting with customers on a daily basis.
