? The Title 1 Aide position is employed to assist a teacher or teachers in teacher supervised instructional and non-instructional tasks working with students in classrooms. The person occupying the position reports directly to his/her assigned teacher/specialist. This is a non-tenured position and is subject to annual review.? The Title 1 Aide is responsible for the efficient performance of assigned activities, including those described below, and is to assist in the remedial education of elementary students in the areas of reading and mathematics. ?TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
? Full-time 6 ½ hours per day, five days per week. Hourly position during the academic school year.? ?WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
? Mostly indoors in a classroom setting. Occasionally work in an outdoor recess setting.?Physical requirements include bending and stooping.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

?? Associate's degree preferred or pass a highly qualified exam (if available) Good communication skills and be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff Should be flexible in adapting to student needs and various teaching styles ? ?SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
?In conducting this role, the essential duties of the Title 1 Aide position shall include, but are not limited to the following:?? Performs instructional and non-instructional activities as assigned and supervised by the teacher/supervisor.? Supervises pupils in the school and community as assigned. Utilizes positive behavior support strategies to effectively manage student behavior.? Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team and follow directions. Displays competence and good judgment in dealing with any physical and/or medical emergency which might arise. Demonstrates ability to utilize technology including computers, word processing, email, student data management systems, internet, progress monitoring, and Microsoft programs.? Collaborates with the teacher to assist in developing an educational program that will be directed toward the development of academic, communication, and social/emotional skills? Adheres to Federal, State, IU, District, and other applicable procedures, policies, and regulations as well as participation in District approved in-service training? Assist the teacher with delivering lessons, working with small groups or individual students, and providing additional help where needed.? Help prepare instructional materials, such as worksheets, presentations, and classroom displays.? Monitor students during activities, such as recess, lunch, or field trips, and provide supervision in the classroom.? Assist with setting up the classroom, arranging furniture, and organizing supplies and resources.? Perform limited clerical functions directly related to the instructional assignment for the purpose of instructing students (i.e. preparing materials, maintaining instructional records for student files, communicating with teachers, etc.) Monitor and record student progress.
