We offer national and commercial title services including settlement services. MacGregor Abstract has been issuing title insurance policies for real estate transactions in New York since 1986. We work with a wide range of real estate professionals who look to us for timely, professional feedback on their transactions. We pride ourselves on handling difficult transactions. We handle small transactions like a parking spot in a condominium, to large commercial transactions as well.

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Clearance Officer, experienced in New York transactions, to join our team. As a Clearance Officer, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the process of clearing exceptions to title for our organization. This role requires strong communication skills, and industry underwriting expertise. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for process improvement and operations management, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the clearance process for our organization
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure efficient and effective clearance operations
  • Report directly to underwriting counsel
  • Collaborate with co-workers to identify potential clearance issues and develop solutions
  • Negotiate clearance terms with external parties
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to clearance requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Provide guidance and support to staff regarding clearance procedures
Experience:
  • Proven experience in New York title insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of clearance processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with external parties
  • Experience in process improvement and operations management
  • Ability to work with a team
