Tool Crib Attendant Job Description The Tool Crib Attendant builds, dismantles, and properly stores tools, performs tool changes on CNC machines, and operates tooling inspection equipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. Responsibilities Build tools according to job specifications to support machining operations. Dismantle tools safely and efficiently after use, ensuring all components are accounted for. Clean and properly store tools in designated locations to maintain organization and tool integrity. Perform tool changes on CNC machines in a timely and accurate manner to minimize downtime. Operate tooling inspection equipment to verify tool condition and suitability for use. Monitor and maintain tool inventory to ensure availability and readiness for production needs. Follow written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and on schedule. Maintain light housekeeping in the tool room and surrounding areas to ensure a clean and safe environment. Adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and cautions while performing daily tasks. Complete the in-house tool crib training program and apply learned skills in day-to-day activities. Work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative and reliability. Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support operations and team objectives. Essential Skills Strong computer skills to manage tool data, inventory, and documentation. Solid basic math skills to measure, calculate, and verify tool specifications. Effective communication and English skills to understand instructions and collaborate with team members. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Ability to complete tasks on time and manage workload responsibly. Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Ability to understand and comply with all safety requirements and cautions. Ability to perform the physical labor necessary to handle tools and equipment in a warehouse and machining environment. Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance. Acute attention to detail to ensure tools are built, inspected, and stored correctly. No prior experience or training required; willingness to learn and complete the in-house tool crib training program. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in developing technical skills related to CNC tooling and inspection equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
