We are seeking a talented Tour Guide to join our team in the Hocking Hills Ohio region. Job Description Title Tour Guide Reports To Vice President Business Development This is a customer focused position with the goal of 100% guest satisfaction. The role of the Tour Guide is to welcome, inform, educate, and accommodate our guests. Tour guides will give 90-minute walking tours to groups of up to 35 guests. As a tourist destination, reliability and dependability is paramount . Competencies•Communications and Public Speaking Ability to learn and retain historical information Must be able to express information clearly and confidently Teamwork Adaptability / Flexibility Energy & Stress Management Decision Making & Judgement Problem Solving Accountability and Dependability Strong Customer Service Skills Job Duties Interact with guests to ensure they feel informed and welcomed Successfully learn and disseminate factual information about the history of the region to guests Work confidently and cheerfully with your direct supervisor and coworkers Resolve guest issues while maintaining integrity, professionalism, and efficiency Other responsibilities include helping with day-to-day operations, providing support for major events. Tour Guide shall perform any and all other job related duties as requested. As we are a tourist destination and weekends are our busiest time, weekend hours are required of all applicants. Requirements Continual on-the-job learning is required Applicants with background in Investigation, paranormal, history, social media videos, and public speaking experience preferred Experience in customer service or related field is essential Must be able to pass a FBI/BCI background check Candidates with previous experience as an educator, tour guide, or museum docent are ideal .Work Conditions Indoor & outdoor setting . Required to work weekends and occasional evenings Due to the nature of our tours, climate control is not possible in all areas resulting in extreme heat or cold temperatures. Physical Demands Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue lifting at least 10 pounds. Tour guides can expect to navigate 2 miles of walking. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.: This position requires a background check.
