Essential Duties for Trade Bindery "Perfect Binder Machine Operator" Commercial Printing Industry Form signatures (pages) and assembles signatures in numerical order to form book body. Attaches covers to top and bottom of book body. Binds signatures and endpapers together along spine of book body, or glues endpapers and signatures together along spine. Trims edges of book to size. Applies glue to back of book. Cuts binder board to specified dimension. Cuts cover material to specified dimensions and fits and glues material to binder board. Places bound book in press that exerts pressure on cover until glue dries. Packs, weighs, and stacks books on pallet for shipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

for Trade Bindery "Perfect Binder Machine Operator" Commercial Printing Industry High School diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assigned. Experience working in a plant environment is a plus. Must have basic oral and written communication skills. Must be dependable and have excellent attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

for Trade Bindery "Perfect Binder Machine Operator" Commercial Printing Industry Lifting, bending and stooping on a constant basis at least 80% of the time. Position requires ability to bend, stoop and lift a minimum of 10lbs to 70 lbs. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Will be lifting a minimum of 10 pounds, up to a maximum of 70 pounds unaided. Ability to work amid constant noise and vibration. Continuous hand, eye, arm and foot coordination and movement. Ability to work rotating shifts, working on feet for 12 hour periods, work overtime and work weekends and holidays. Sufficient physical strength to operate manual levers when necessary and repetitive motions.

EDUCATION
