Simple IRA w/ Employer Match Bonus based on performance Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Midway Trailer Sales & Service, Inc is looking for a trailer technician to perform specialty repair work and maintenance for RV's, horse, cargo, and flatbed trailers. Our organization is currently seeking a trailer technician for our Ottawa, Illinois location. The right candidate will have to diagnose, inspect, adjust, repair, and/or overhaul RV vehicles and be able to provide product and service information while resolving technical issues as well as hold a strong ability to listen, keep accurate records, and have a strong work ethic and a hunger to succeed as a team. Prior mechanical, electrical, and plumbing experience is required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair appliances, plumbing, electrical systems, etc. Perform tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined. Communicate additional service requests to service advisor. Diagnose, inspect, adjust, and/or repair RV's, living quarter horse trailers, cargos, and flatbed trailers. Be able to locate and repair frayed wiring, broken connections/incorrect wiring, using electrical test meters and hand tools. Repair plumbing, electrical, appliance, propane gas line, and use caulking compounds and plastic and copper pipe. Complete work order line items - Evaluate trailers and determine the nature and extent of damage/repair. Examine and test operation of parts systems to ensure repairs are completely successful. Test electrical systems by internal or external power source to be able to confirm all appliances, lights, switches, and motors are operational. Test water systems including fresh and waste water to ensure all systems are operating as intended. Accurately track parts used on work assignments
Requirements/Key Competencies:
Clear and concise written and verbal communication with attention to detail. High degree of accuracy. Excellent customer service. Effectively manages responsibilities with time management to reach goals. Ability to multi-task while demonstrating strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy. Develop knowledge of all units to help customers with general questions. Must have a dependable mode of transportation. Employee must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job. Must be able to be on your feet up to 80% of the time.
