Transportation Coordinator & General Support Assistant

Position Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator and General Support Assistant serves in a dual role supporting the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa residing at Stair Crest and the Dominican Sisters Residence in Racine. This position is responsible for coordinating transportation services, overseeing vehicle use and maintenance, and providing hands-on operational support to residents and the Dominican Life Team. The role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to assist with a wide range of tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. Key Responsibilities Transportation Coordination Coordinate transportation needs for residents at both locations. Organize and monitor a vehicle sign-out system. Oversee maintenance and repair of all vehicles, including cars, vans, and bus. Coordinate local vehicle repairs in collaboration with the Vehicle and Driver Coordinator. Monitor and reconcile WEX fuel card usage; ensure compliance with usage guidelines. Ensure vehicles are properly fueled and address non-compliance with established protocols. Review monthly fuel invoices and submit to the General Finance Office (GFO). Serve as liaison for the GoGoGrandparent ride-share program; manage inquiries and review invoices for accuracy. Communicate with insurance providers, GFO, and the Dominican Life Coordinator regarding vehicle incidents or accidents. Ensure driver assessments are completed for individuals age 80+ or with medical concerns, in accordance with organizational policies. Report driving concerns to the Dominican Life Coordinator. Maintain and distribute handicap parking permits for vehicles. Coordinate with GFO to provide AAA memberships, insurance documentation, and vehicle registrations. Provide transportation for residents to medical or dental appointments as needed. Collaborate with the Vehicle and Driver Coordinator to maintain appropriate vehicle inventory at each location. Troubleshoot vehicle-related issues and coordinate with service providers as necessary. Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned. General Support Provide hands-on support to residents and staff with day-to-day operational needs. Move, lift, and arrange furniture safely. Assist with basic installations (e.g., hanging pictures, assembling furniture, installing shelving). Coordinate additional support for larger projects with supervisor approval. Assist with light maintenance, cleaning, and general labor tasks. Support staff across departments as needs arise. Adapt to changing priorities and provide flexible support. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Experience working with older adults preferred. Willingness to receive training in dementia care. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to lift and move furniture and other heavy items safely. Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions. Flexible, team-oriented approach with a willingness to perform a variety of tasks. Prior experience in moving, maintenance, or general labor is preferred but not required.

Pay:

$21.50 - $23.75 per hour
