Position Summary TheTransportation Project Manageris a pivotal role within our Transportation Practice Group, offering the opportunity to lead high-profileprojects for IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, and various county and municipal agencies.
Thiswillbe anexperienced Civil Engineer withdeep technicalproficiencyin transportation design anda strongto lead projects. This positionsupportscriticaldesign effortsand requires experience with MicroStationalongsidetheabilityto managemultidisciplinary workflows. Overseejunior engineersmanagingdaily tasks related to project deliverables. Technical Excellence Leadassignmentsincludingroadwaygeometrics,ADA design,drainage system design, traffic analysis, barrier warrant analyses,andmaintenance of traffic(MOT).
Perform traffic studies and analysis using HCS, Synchro, and other modeling software asrequired. Project Documentation Lead the development of preliminary design studies (Phase I), Project Reports, technical specifications, and quantity take-offs. Client Management Act as a primary point of contact for clients;assistin scopingengineeringservicesand developing fee proposals.
Familiarity with professional transportation organizations.
Ability torepresentthe firm at professional transportationorganizationevents. QA/QC Oversight Ensure technical accuracy by checking design computations and preparing Engineers Opinion of Probable Cost (EOPC). Coordination Manage engineering plan andpermitsubmittals to regulatory agencies and collaborate with structural engineers on bridge-relatedelements. Professional Agility Demonstrate strong project management skills and a willingness to tackle new or unfamiliar technical challenges. Supervisory and Mentorship Ability to lead a team of junior engineers and technicians on a project basis and with respect to career development and advancement.
