Transportation Safety Administrator Kaukauna, WI 54130 $19 an hour - Full-time $19 an hour -

Safety Reports To:
Director of Safety Position Summary The Safety Administrator supports the Safety Department by managing licensing and permitting processes to ensure full regulatory compliance across all operations. This role will serve as a key administrative partner to the safety team, maintaining accurate records, coordinating renewals, and assisting with additional safety-related tasks as needed. This position also involves direct engagement with drivers and regular participation on the maintenance lot, supporting safety initiatives and ensuring alignment between administrative compliance and field operations. Key Responsibilities Licensing & Permitting (Primary Focus): Manage and track all federal, state, and local licensing and permitting requirements Ensure timely submission, renewal, and compliance of permits (IRP, IFTA, UCR, DOT, etc.) Maintain organized and accurate records of all licenses and permits Monitor expiration dates and proactively communicate upcoming deadlines Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies regarding compliance requirements
Administrative & Safety Support:
Assist with safety documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping Support audits and compliance reviews by organizing required documentation Enter and maintain data within safety systems and platforms Assist with onboarding compliance requirements (driver files, documentation, etc.) Engage directly with drivers to support safety compliance, communication, and follow-up on requirements Participate regularly on the maintenance lot to support safety initiatives, inspections, and coordination with maintenance staff Provide general administrative support to the
Safety Department Equipment & Safety Monitoring:
Support initiatives related to driver-facing and forward-facing camera systems Assist with tracking, documentation, and follow-up related to safety technology and maintenance-related safety items Partner with Safety and Maintenance teams to ensure proper use, reporting, and compliance of safety equipment Qualifications 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in transportation, safety, or compliance Knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations is preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with transportation or compliance systems is a plus Work Environment Office-based role with frequent interaction across departments Regular presence in operational environments, including the maintenance lot and driver areas Standard business hours with flexibility as needed to meet deadlines Physical Requirements Ability to climb in and out of tractors and trailers as needed Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while on the maintenance lot or interacting with drivers Ability to perform light physical activity in support of safety and operational tasks
Pay:
$19.00 per hour
