Transportation Senior Project Manager

Job Brief We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the efficient, cost-effective, and ethical development of company projects. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and client expectations. This role is critical in supporting our organizational goals around customer satisfaction, profitability, and sustained growth. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage project plans including key milestones, budgets, and schedules Supervise and track project progress; implement corrective actions as needed Oversee subcontractor performance and provide technical guidance Maintain comprehensive project documentation and performance records Identify risks and create effective mitigation strategies Review and approve proposals, cost estimates, and budgeting Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety protocols, and company policies Mentor staff and uphold high standards of accountability and integrity Procure materials and manage contracts Conduct job scoping and prepare estimates/proposals Interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve project issues Conduct site visits and monitor jobsite activities and performance Administer construction contracts and manage jobsite compliance Secure repeat business and foster new client relationships Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of relevant experience in civil transportation and/or public works electrical construction Proven experience managing projects exceeding $10M in value Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously STS-C certification preferred Must have reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and efficiently Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge of electrical construction practices, specifications, and project documentation Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, Accubid, Heavybid, Foundation, and Bluebeam Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and stakeholders across diverse cultures Strong attention to detail and rapid takeoff capabilities Adaptability to evolving organizational and environmental conditions Capable of navigating complex job sites in variable weather conditions Physical Demands Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands to operate equipment Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl Must frequently lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception Travel Requirements Based in South El Monte, CA Regular travel to job sites throughout Los Angeles County is required Work Environment Frequent exposure to airborne particles, mechanical parts, and jobsite vibrations Occasional exposure to extreme weather and construction conditions Noise levels may be loud Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Comet Electric complies with all applicable laws and regulations regarding equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
