In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children, seniors, and individuals with special needs, to their destinations. Your enthusiasm and dedication will ensure a positive experience for all riders while maintaining the highest safety standards. Whether driving school buses, community shuttles, or paratransit vehicles, your role is key to connecting people with their daily activities and fostering a sense of community. Duties Safely operate various types of buses, including school buses, paratransit vehicles, and commercial transportation units, following all traffic laws and safety protocols Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers, addressing their needs, and ensuring a comfortable ride experience Assist passengers with special requirements, such as children or individuals with mobility challenges, demonstrating compassion and patience Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical functionality, and cleanliness before each route Manage behavior on board through effective behavior management techniques to promote a safe environment for all riders Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit Collaborate with dispatchers and supervisors to report issues, schedule changes, or emergencies promptly Experience Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for school buses) Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to perform basic troubleshooting and inspections Demonstrated ability to handle behavior management effectively in dynamic environments Prior experience in customer service roles that require clear communication and patience Familiarity with driving regulations related to paratransit or school bus operations; certifications such as first aid or special needs assistance are advantageous Embark on a rewarding journey where your skills make a difference every day!
