In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring a secure, comfortable, and positive experience for every passenger. Your dedication will help foster a safe environment while demonstrating excellent communication skills and a caring attitude. Duties Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle mechanical safety and readiness before each trip Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, providing support for children with special needs or childcare requirements Maintain discipline and manage behavior onboard to ensure a safe environment for all passengers Communicate effectively with dispatcher in clear English or multilingual as needed Follow scheduled routes precisely, making timely stops at designated locations Complete all required logs, incident reports, and safety documentation accurately and promptly Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid driver's license suitable for operating large vehicles Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to connect with diverse communities Knowledge of driving safety protocols, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance basics Ability to work well with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and excellent behavior management skills Mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude towards students, parents, and school staff Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable Familiarity with paratransit services or senior care transportation is advantageous Embark on this rewarding journey where your driving skills meet your passion for community service!
