Duties Safely operate school buses along assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols at all times Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, staff, and the community Manage student behavior on the bus using positive behavior management techniques Communicate effectively with school personnel and parents regarding route updates or student concerns Keep accurate records of routes, mileage, maintenance needs, and incident reports Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those requiring special accommodations or childcare support Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement or willingness to obtain one Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Knowledge of driving safety procedures, mechanical basics, and vehicle maintenance Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable Ability to handle behavior management effectively and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with students and parents Physical ability to sit for extended periods, perform vehicle inspections, and assist children as needed Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening as part of employment requirements Join our team as a School Route Driver and become an essential part of our community!
