Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation for passengers, including children and seniors. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all riders. Duties Safely operate a bus or paratransit vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Ensure the safety of passengers during transit, including assisting those with special needs. Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and minor mechanical maintenance. Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school officials regarding schedules, routes, and any changes. Manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment on the bus. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or questions from passengers. Document any incidents or issues that occur during transit in accordance with company policies. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving. Experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred; school bus driving experience is a plus. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of mechanical systems is an advantage for performing basic vehicle maintenance. Willing to be background screened, this is a reqiurement.
