Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Bus Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children, seniors, and community members, along designated routes. Your enthusiasm for driving and commitment to excellent customer service will ensure a positive experience for all riders. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing reliable transportation while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times. Duties Safely operate buses and paratransit vehicles along assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies Assist passengers with boarding and exiting, ensuring safety and comfort, especially when working with children or seniors Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle's mechanical systems, brakes, lights, and safety equipment to ensure optimal operation Communicate effectively with passengers using clear English or bilingual skills, providing route information and responding to inquiries Manage behavior on the bus through positive behavior management techniques to maintain a safe environment for all riders Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during shifts Follow all safety protocols and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to maintenance teams Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid driver's license suitable for operating large vehicles Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic troubleshooting to perform routine inspections and minor repairs Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals requiring special assistance such as paratransit services or childcare support Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience when interacting with passengers of all ages Ability to manage behavior effectively in a group setting using positive reinforcement strategies Familiarity with teaching or guiding passengers on safety procedures is advantageous Multilingual skills enhance communication with diverse populations and improve service quality Join us as a Bus Driver and become an essential part of our community-focused transportation team!
