Bus Driver Salary $18.96 Hourly Location Lauderhill, FL Job Type Part-Time Job Number 2026-0325 Department Parks and Recreation Department Division 718: Transportation Opening Date 03/25/2026 Closing Date 4/15/2026 6:00 PM Eastern Description Questions General Statement of Job Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide transportation services to senior citizens, youths and others in the City. Employees in this classification perform routine transport work. Position is responsible for transporting clients to medical centers, nursing homes, daycare centers, recreational trips, and other places as required. Performs related work as directed. Essential Functions Inspects vehicles and performs minor maintenance such as checking oil, fueling, and cleaning, sweeping and washing interior and exterior of vehicles. Checks vehicle equipment such as first aid box, and fire extinguisher. Picks up and discharges clients; assists clients needing special care. Coordinates with other drivers as required for special events or activities. Operates radios and telephones as required. Assists with training of new drivers. Loads and unloads packages. Provides assistance to wheelchair passengers as required. Prepares reports such as vehicle maintenance report. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED; supplemented by up to 6 months previous experience driving 45 or more passenger vehicle and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
