Job Summary Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of our students' daily journey to learning and growth! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles according to all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical functionality, and cleanliness Follow school policies and student discipline procedures to maintain order and promote positive behavior during transit Assist students with disabilities or mobility challenges, including wheelchair assistance and other accommodations Respond quickly to traffic changes, emergency stop procedures, and unexpected road conditions to ensure passenger safety at all times Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders as needed Maintain accurate logs of trips, incidents, and vehicle maintenance records Skills Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or transit bus operation with a strong understanding of traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Knowledge of emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and child safety protocols Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting students or handling equipment safely Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness Strong behavior management skills to handle student discipline effectively while maintaining a positive environment Customer service orientation with the ability to respond quickly to traffic changes or unforeseen situations Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for school bus or commercial driving; familiarity with state and local commercial driving laws is essential CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Embark on a rewarding career where every day offers the chance to positively impact young lives! $23.26 - $28.01 per hour
