Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The driver creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while providing safe transportation of program participants to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Aiken Minibus Shift:
Monday - Friday 2:00PM- 5:00PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Drives minibus safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws. Maintains minibus in orderly and clean fashion. Completes thorough checks before and after every trip, recording all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans minibus out each day, after last use. Always promotes safety, keeping first aid supplies fully stocked. Announces minibus rules prior to departure for each trip. Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children. Communicates regularly with other staff and supervisor. Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current driver's license required. Position requires a clear criminal background check to include a clean Motor Vehicle Report CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements is preferred 2 Years Driving experience 21 years of age Certifications required within 60 days of hire; CPR/AED/First Aid Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
