Job Description

Job Summary Join our team as a School Bus Driver Trainee and embark on a rewarding journey to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students. This paid training position offers an exciting opportunity to develop essential driving skills, learn transportation safety regulations, and gain firsthand experience working with children. As a School Bus Driver Trainee, you will be supported by experienced professionals while you acquire the knowledge needed to become a fully licensed school bus driver. Your energetic attitude and commitment to safety will help create a positive environment for students, parents, and school staff alike. Duties Assist in the safe operation of school buses under supervision, following all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Learn and adhere to school policies, student discipline procedures, and passenger safety protocols. Support with vehicle inspections, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment before routes. Provide courteous customer service to students, parents, and school staff, ensuring clear communication and positive interactions. Assist with loading and unloading students, including helping with wheelchair assistance and heavy lifting when necessary. Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies using emergency response procedures for transportation. Maintain accurate records of routes driven, student attendance, and safety checks as directed by supervisors. Experience No prior professional bus driving experience required; we provide comprehensive paid training to help you succeed. Experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus but not mandatory. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and commercial driving regulations is beneficial but will be taught during training. Strong communication skills in English are essential; multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse communities. Demonstrated responsibility in following safety procedures and behavior management techniques. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Qualifications:
Must be over 21 years old. Must have a Valid driver's license with at least 3 years experience and no major accidents or violations. Be able to pass a criminal background check. Be able to pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen (THC is still considered a controlled substance federally) Have a good attitude and a willingness to learn and follow directions. Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
