Job Description:
Student Transit is hiring a School Bus Driver Trainer to help develop and support our next generation of safe, professional drivers. This position combines driver training, safety support, and day-to-day operational assistance. The ideal candidate will have previous school bus experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities Include:
Training and mentoring School Bus Drivers Conducting behind-the-wheel and classroom instruction Supporting safety meetings and evacuation drills Assisting with dispatch, office, and safety-related tasks Bus inspections and cleanliness checks Maintaining attendance records and driver paperwork Assisting with operational documentation and forms Reinforcing company safety and compliance standards Participating in ongoing safety and training education We are looking for someone who is professional, dependable, organized, and committed to creating a positive safety culture. Job Requirements:
CDL Class B or higher required Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements required Valid Indiana School Bus Driver Certification (Yellow Card) required Previous School Bus driving experience required Strong communication and leadership skills Clean driving record and ability to meet insurability requirements Organized, dependable, and safety-focused Ability to conduct behind-the-wheel and classroom training Ability to assist with operational and administrative tasks
