Student Transportation Driver (KSB/KSD Route) - Full Time

Position Type:
Full Time (4.5 Hours Daily) Job Summary Trimble County Schools is seeking a dependable and student-focused Transportation Driver to provide daily transportation services for students attending the Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) and/or Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD). This position requires the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school while maintaining a positive, supportive, and professional environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport students between Trimble County and the Kentucky School for the Blind and/or Kentucky School for the Deaf according to established schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Ensure compliance with all district transportation policies, Kentucky Department of Education regulations, and traffic laws. Maintain appropriate student supervision and ensure student safety during transport. Assist students as needed with entering and exiting the vehicle. Maintain accurate records, including mileage, inspection reports, and incident documentation. Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and administrators regarding transportation matters. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good operating condition. Attend required training and meetings as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Kentucky driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to meet all district and state requirements for transporting students. Successful completion of criminal background check and any required drug screening. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with students with special needs is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle. Ability to assist students entering and exiting the vehicle when necessary. Ability to perform vehicle inspections and light physical tasks associated with transportation duties. Work Schedule Approximately 4.5 hours per day during the school year. Daily schedule based on student transportation needs and school calendars. Terms of Employment Salary and benefits in accordance with the Trimble County Schools classified salary schedule and board policies.
