Immediately Job Description The Center School and Transportation Options have openings for 7D Drivers, providing specialized transportation services to special education students served by our schools

Positions are per diem, Monday through Friday, up to 25 hours per week, but can lead to full time employment as an Interventionist with our private schools and school based programs. No weekend work! 7

D DRIVER Position Responsibilities:

• Safely and courteously transports students and other staff members as assigned, utilizing the transportation environment as an extension of the classroom. Engages students in meaningful conversations and activities as appropriate. Most runs are early morning and late afternoon.
• Assists students in boarding and exiting the vehicle and assures safety restraints are utilized per state law.
• Drivers provide safe transportation of special education students to and from the educational setting, based on assigned or covering routes; assist students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed, often with the assistance of a trained Monitor; operate vehicle in accordance with all Federal and State traffic regulations; complete all required documentation and record keeping as required; perform regular vehicle safety checks.

D Driver Position Requirements:

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and provide proof upon hire, as well as patience, reliability and an interest in working with students with social/ emotional /behavioral issues. Driver applicants must also have a current 7D Student Pupil Transport License and provide documentation of a good driving record. Drivers must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with parents and school and TO staff. Drivers will also be part of a random screening pool for alcohol and other drugs. 7D Driver pay is \$21.00 per hour and includes Earned Sick Time accrual. All applicants offered employment must complete a background check process which includes CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting and DCF background checks. Job Requirements At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred.
