Requirements and Responsibility of the Bus Driver We are looking for professional, safety‑minded Bus Drivers who are committed to serving the community while operating our transit fleet safely and reliably.
Pay & Benefits Starting Pay:
$26.30/hour Union Position - Full Benefits Included Medical, dental, and vision insurance Pension / retirement plan Paid time off & paid holidays Overtime opportunities Job security and union representation Paid training & career advancement Job Summary Bus Drivers are responsible for the safe, courteous, and timely transportation of passengers along assigned routes. This role requires professionalism, strong customer service skills, and strict adherence to safety regulations and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities (Bus Driver) Safely operate transit buses on city streets and freeway traffic Provide excellent customer service to all passengers Follow assigned routes and make designated stops Assist passengers with disabilities, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and DVIRs Communicate delays, incidents, detours, and service updates to dispatch Handle fare collection and maintain accurate passenger counts Follow all traffic laws, safety policies, and company procedures Report accidents, injuries, or unusual incidents according to policy Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements (Bus Driver) At least 21 years of age High school diploma or GED Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements Must pass a DOT Physical and applicable background checks Ability to work various shifts (schedules based on seniority) Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to safely operate large vehicles (paid training provided if needed) Why Work With Us?
