Job Description
Job Description The Town of Ocean City's Transportation Department is accepting applications for Summer 2026. Drivers are required to operate transit vehicles in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local traffic laws. All drivers shall operate in a safe and professional manner at all times. Bus drivers are responsible for accurately tracking their tickets, cash receipts, passenger load, and other related paperwork that is necessary to complete their shift. Must maintain a neat, clean, cheerful, polite, well-groomed appearance and a cooperative demeanor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position Details:
- Minimum of 20 years old
- Minimum of four (4) years of driving experience
- A high school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol tests
- Have or be able to obtain a DOT medical certificate
- Have a valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement, qualified to operate vehicles with air brakes
- Hourly rate: $21.37 for new bus drivers, and $21.80 for returning bus drivers who meet specified requirements
