Starting at $22.66/hour- Pay commensurate with experience
Schedule:
Approximately 3.5 hours daily (hours can vary) o Morning hours range between: 6:00 AM- 8:15 AM o Afternoon hours range between: 2:30 PM

PM Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate effectively and in a positive manner with students, parents, and other school staff
- Training Provided for acquisition of proper CDL license (B,P,S)
- Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the job including lifting students and equipment
- Must enjoy working with students of all ages
- Must have excellent driver license record
Job Responsibilities:
- Must complete all state requirements to qualify as a school bus driver.
- Must comply with all State of Michigan rules and regulations pertaining to the operation of a school bus.
- Perform a pre-trip inspection prior to each run or trip and turn in an inspection report on a weekly basis.
- Report in writing the need for service and repairs to their assigned bus using the provided repair order form.
- Immediately report to the supervisor all accidents, traffic violations and citations issued by police agencies. Verbal reporting will be followed up with a written report submitted by the driver.
- Keep the bus in a clean condition, including mirrors, light lenses, and bus interior.
- Be on time for regular and special trip runs including completion of school bus pre-trip inspection.
- Complete each run on time, in a safe manner and complete each transfer as assigned to the route.
- Be aware of the activities of the student riders while on the bus and to insist that students conduct themselves in a manner conducive to safe bus transportation and other drivers.
- Complete student misconduct forms when necessary and communicate discipline problems to the student's parents and transportation supervisor.
- Be able to perform emergency evacuation of all bus passengers under reasonable conditions.
- Utilize bus radio in a proper and professional manner.
- Follow the guidelines and rules for extra trips when assigned to them.
- Perform all other bus related duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Chelsea School District.
