The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation services for children to be transported safely to and from our daycare center (Oakman Child Care and Development). This role requires punctuality, a clean driving record, and excellent service to both the parents and students alike. You must be able to meet the expectations of schedule responsibilities. Responsibilities Must be able to work 4 hours per day (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon). Must pass a Background Check This role is competitive rate pay starting at $20 per hour. Must have a clean driving record Safely operate a bus or paratransit vehicle according to established routes and schedules. Ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, parents, and caregivers regarding schedules and any changes. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed. Manage passenger behavior in a positive manner to maintain a safe environment. Complete necessary paperwork, including incident reports and daily logs. Provide exceptional customer service while addressing any questions or concerns from passengers or their families. Cleans inside and outside of bus on an as-needed basis. Requirements Excellent driving record; ability to pass CDL licensing exam and subsequent school bus driver training. Mandatory Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) designations Complete an annual DOT physical and TB screen . Be certified in Child and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid. Pass comprehensive criminal history checks and maintain a clean driving record. Experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred; school bus driving experience is a plus. Strong communication skills in English Conducts daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections as required. Experience working with children or in childcare settings is beneficial. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is an advantage. Ability to manage behavior effectively towards the children One or more years of experience Ability to carry out assigned route on time
