Full Job Description Description:
Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Field Trip School Bus Driver to transport students and school staff to and from educational field trips, athletic events, and special activities. The ideal candidate prioritizes student safety, follows all traffic and school transportation regulations, and represents the school in a professional and courteous manner. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus to transport students on field trips and special events Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues Ensure student safety during loading, unloading, and transport Follow all local, state, and federal transportation laws and school district policies Maintain order and appropriate behavior on the bus Communicate clearly with school staff regarding schedules, routes, and any issues Complete required logs, trip reports, and documentation accurately Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with proper endorsements (e.g., Passenger and School Bus) Clean driving record Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and required physical examinations Previous school bus or commercial driving experience preferred Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends Skills & Attributes Strong commitment to safety and responsibility Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience and professionalism when working with students Dependable, punctual, and well-organized Ability to remain calm under pressure Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods Ability to assist students when needed during boarding and exiting Must meet all physical requirements required by transportation regulations
