Non-Exempt Enjoy a flexible schedule and a rewarding role as a School Bus Driver—helping students get to school safely and reliably every day.
Essential Functions:
Performs vehicle inspections and safety checks; checks fuel, oil and fluid levels and fills accordingly; cleans bus, sweeps, removes trash, wipes windows; checks lights, gauges and switches for proper operation; cleans mirrors and windows; informs Director or Head Mechanic of defects or mechanical failures; washes vehicle, scrubs floors and walls. Transports students to and from school or designated areas; observes driving and district rules and regulations; provides input regarding efficiency and safety. Maintains order and discipline; observes district policies regarding discipline; reports problems and provides papers to the Director as required; maintains confidentiality of student information. Maintains mileage/fuel records; completes pre-trip inspection reports; reports violations to the Director. Attends meetings as required; attends training and workshops as directed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of District policies and procedures; thorough knowledge of School Crisis Planning Guide and related emergency documents (evacuation, lockdown, fire, weather); thorough knowledge of 2-way radio and PA system; ability to utilize emergency triangle, fire extinguisher, broom, ice scraper, squeegees; general knowledge of First Aid; ability to assist students in an emergency evacuation; ability to implement and model the "Code of Conduct"; ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with staff, faculty, students and parents. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED and moderate experience operating a bus, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation:
$24.70 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
