Job Description
Description The City of Jefferson is currently accepting applications for a hiring roster for Bus Driver with JeffTran. This roster shall function as a compilation of interested applicants who want to become a part of the JeffTrann team when vacancies in the department arise. Join the JeffTran team to be a part of something great! Our drivers provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation to the public each day. The starting salary for Bus Drivers are $20.00 per hour. Drivers who work a shift scheduled to last 10 hours or more from start to finish are eligible for an additional $1.50 per hour split-shift differential for all hours worked during that shift. Examples of Duties Drivers provide safe, courteous, on-time bus transportation and customer service on assigned city routes and/or para-transit service; perform pre-trip safety inspections; and provide assistance to persons with disabilities when necessary. Typical Qualifications Must have excellent customer service skills, outstanding dependability, and ability to accurately and thoroughly complete paperwork, work safely, communicate clearly, sit for extended periods, work in extreme weather conditions, and aid disabled passengers. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess, or obtain within two weeks of hire, a valid Missouri Commercial Driver License (CDL) of the appropriate class with all required endorsements for the vehicles to be operated. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed training in Defensive Driving, Passenger Relations, Emergency and Accident Response, Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Passenger Assistance Techniques, or other related transportation safety programs. Supplemental Information Hiring is dependent on successful completion of DOT Physical, pre-employment drug screening, criminal history, and drivers license's check. JeffTran operates Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This position is posted until filled. EEO-M/F/D/V
