Drivers will operate Creighton Prep's 14-passenger activity buses to transport students, coaches, faculty, and staff to athletic competitions, activities, retreats, and other school events. This is an as-needed position with no fixed weekly schedule or guaranteed number of hours. Opportunities may include daytime, evening, or weekend trips. Drivers may accept assignments based on their availability. Responsibilities Safely transport students, employees, and other authorized passengers to and from school-sponsored activities. Operate school vehicles in accordance with Nebraska law and Creighton Prep policies. Follow assigned routes and schedules while adjusting appropriately for traffic, weather, and road conditions. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Ensure passengers follow applicable safety expectations. Maintain appropriate student supervision and professional conduct. Report accidents, safety concerns, vehicle damage, or maintenance needs promptly. Keep the vehicle reasonably clean and ensure that no passengers or belongings remain on the bus after a trip. Complete required trip records and other documentation. Represent Creighton Prep and its mission in a professional and responsible manner. Qualifications Completion of the 11-hour driver training course required by the State of Nebraska, or willingness to complete the course before driving. Valid driver's license and any license classification, permit, or endorsement required for the vehicle being operated. Acceptable driving record. Ability to meet all applicable state requirements for school transportation drivers, including any required medical examination or certification. Ability to pass required background checks and other pre-employment screenings. Dependable, punctual, and committed to passenger safety. Ability to communicate effectively with students, employees, and school representatives. Comfortable working with high school students and supporting the mission of a Jesuit, Catholic school. Availability for occasional daytime, evening, or weekend assignments. Previous professional driving experience is preferred but not required. Schedule This is a flexible, as-needed position. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours. Drivers will be contacted when trips become available and may accept assignments according to their availability.
