Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Bus Driver and become a vital part of our transportation department. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children, ensuring a positive and secure experience for everyone on board. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while making a meaningful difference in young people's lives. Responsibilities Safely operate buses in accordance with traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations. Transport students along designated routes. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical functionality. Communicate clearly with students using effective language skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for diverse communities. Manage behavior and maintain order on the bus. Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during shifts. Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues promptly to ensure safety standards are upheld. Follow all safety protocols, including emergency procedures and defensive driving techniques, to protect passengers and yourself at all times. Experience Proven experience in school bus driving is highly preferred; familiarity with school bus driving or paratransit services is a strong advantage. Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles safely over long periods, with excellent driving skills in various conditions. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse communities effectively. Experience working with children or providing childcare support is beneficial for roles involving school transportation or youth programs. Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic troubleshooting helps ensure safe operation and quick resolution of minor issues.
