As a School Bus Driver, you will play an important role in providing safe, reliable transportation for students to and from our program, field trips, and special events. We are looking for someone who is professional, punctual, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for every child. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CDL driver who values safety, teamwork, and making a difference in the lives of children and families. Responsibilities Safely transport students to and from schools, program locations, and scheduled field trips. Operate a school bus in accordance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws and school bus safety regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance concerns. Maintain accurate route logs, mileage records, and required transportation documentation. Ensure the safety of all passengers while maintaining appropriate student behavior during transportation. Communicate professionally with parents, school personnel, and program staff. Keep the bus clean, organized, and ready for daily operation. Respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations while following established safety procedures. Represent Rahway's Best with professionalism, courtesy, and excellent customer service. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Minimum 2 years of school bus or commercial driving experience. Clean driving record. Ability to pass all required background checks, drug screening, and DOT physical requirements. Strong knowledge of school bus safety regulations and defensive driving practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Ability to work effectively with children of various ages. Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience transporting children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting. Bilingual or multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Current CPR and First Aid Certification is a plus.
