Job Description
Overview Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. In this energetic role, you will operate school buses with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing a positive experience for young learners while adhering to all safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vehicles according to traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Transport students and passengers along designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures Assist students with disabilities by providing wheelchair assistance and supporting their mobility needs in compliance with child care and senior care standards Follow emergency response procedures for transportation, including emergency stop procedures and quick responses to traffic changes Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, school staff, parents, and passengers to ensure smooth operations and address any issues promptly Enforce student discipline and behavior management policies to promote a safe and respectful environment onboard Conduct vehicle inspections before and after routes, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns immediately Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus driving and passenger transport Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving, transit bus operation, or paratransit services Knowledge of traffic laws, emergency response procedures, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, school staff, and colleagues Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting students or handling equipment safely First aid certification and CPR training are highly desirable to respond effectively in emergencies Experience working with children or in childcare environments is preferred to foster positive interactions with students Familiarity with school policies, student discipline protocols, behavior management techniques, and child safety standards Embark on a rewarding career that combines responsibility with community service!
